I received my M.Sc. degree in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa, Italy, in April 2005.
Then, after almost three years of experience in the industry as a software engineer, in January 2008 I was enrolled in the Ph.D. program of the “Ca’ Foscari” University of Venice, where I received my doctoral degree later on in November 2011.
I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Knowledge Interaction and Intelligent Systems (KIIS) at the University of Venice, from January 2012 until May 2014. In the meantime, I have also collaborated with the High Performance Computing Lab of the ISTI-CNR in Pisa, Italy, as a Research Associate.
From June 2014 until early July 2017, I have been a Research Scientist at Yahoo Research in London, UK, and a member of the Ad Science Team. Currently, I am still working closely to Yahoo as an academic collaborator.
From mid July 2017, I have joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of Padua, Italy, as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science.
My research interests include Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, (Web) Data Mining, and Natural Language Processing.
